D2 Rookie of the Year

#7 -- Molly Burke, COLUMBIA

#15 -- Lizzie Gilmore, AU

If you've met our team, you've met Lizzie.  Outgoing, fun and in love with hockey, she made this season a lot more fun for everyone.  Lizzie's first year was a difficult one for our squad, but it would have been so much worse without her.  Her dedication was hard to match - she was at every game and practice and recruited her friend Katie (who's also great) to help our numbers. Lizzie skates hard (especially on the backcheck), listens well and is always the loudest player cheering her team from the bench... either bench.  Lizzie's commitment helped save our season, her work on the ice made us more competitive and her Lizard-ness made it a fun year as well.

#2 -- Reilly Guarnero, IUP

Although she was only with the team for the first half of the year, Riley was a huge help to the team this year, and she will be sorely missed. She brought a spark and talent that is rare for a rookie and she fit in on the team as if she was a veteran.

#4 -- Clarissa He, NAVY

Clarissa is a freshman this year and has improved immensely.  Her quirky attitude and relentless pursuit to hone her skills has proved to serve her well.  Clarissa is one of the fastest skaters on the team and never gives up.  While Clarissa carries a heavier academic load than the average college student alongside other military obligations, she is not deterred from a challenging practice that may leave snow on her shorts.  Quick to jump up, Clarissa is hard-working individual that will continue to grow into an important player for years to come.

#0 -- Hannah Repke, UVA

#19 -- Christina Segerholm, RUTGERS

Christina played roller hockey before deciding to try ice hockey, and we are so glad she did! She puts her all into every single game, plays hard, and even when we lose--keeps a smile on her face. Within a few months, Christina scored her first goal during our weekend at playoffs. Her dedication to self-improvement motivates everyone else on the team to always try their best, and there's no doubt we missed her when she had to bow out for the last half of the season due to an ankle injury.

With every game, Christina lifted our spirits. Her sunny optimism and good mood always make her a standout at our practices, and she is never afraid of trying something new.  She's committed to making the team the best it can be, and we are looking forward to her run as Vice-President next year.

#16 -- Riley Sodaitis, ROWAN

Riley Sodaitis joined our team this year, and has already made an incredible impact. The defense aren't generally known for scoring, but Riley led our defense in points, and scored 3 game winning goals.

On a more personal note, even as a freshman, Riley is sometimes called our "team mom." She is the kind of person who will text you to make sure you got home safely. She's usually the first one at the ice rink for our 6 am practices, even though she lives the farthest away from the rink. She gives everything she has at every game, pushing herself to the breaking point on every shift.
