D2 Most Valuable Player

Michaela Mimi Amore -- USNA

.

Michaela Mimi Amore, a senior, became our Goalie in the second half of the season due to a season ending medical emergency with our regular Goalie.  She played in all of our 2011 games as our Goalie.  She came to all our 5 AM practices and worked with our Goalie Coach. while still participating in the early evening practices as a member of the Navy Crew Team,

She ended up posting the second best Saves% (70 of 75 shots for .933%) in regular season play in Division 2, and best Saves% (65 of 69 shots for .942%) among all playoff Goaltenders in both DVCHC Divisions.

Mimi worked hard in the regular season and playoffs.  As a senior, she provided the leadership and focus for the underclassmen that we have come to expect our seniors to provide at Navy. Mimi’s dedication and actions in helping our team in our time of need, provided the team with enough moxie to win the Championship against a very well coached and extremely talented SRU team.

Mimi was voted Navy’s 2010-2011 MVP by a Unanimous vote.

Allison Levin -- CU

Allison has dedicated her heart and soul in to our team as a goalie. She has served us well for the past 4 years and we are sad to see her go.

This season she wowed us all with her ability to skate out and hold her own as a center. Her vast hockey knowledge extends to all parts of the ice, she is always willing to give helpful advice to other players.

Her dedication and kindness on and off the ice are some of the biggest reasons why we are still a team today. Allison has been an invaluable player for the past 4 years and we would not be the team we are today without her.

Alyssa Spratte -- VU

Sophomore Alyssa is a versatile hockey player from Chicago, IL. While she is a particularly strong defenseman, this year we asked her to move to Center to help us out offensively and in her 1st game at Center had a hat trick and was plus 7 for the game. I guess we made the right move with Alyssa.

Throughout the season, she played both positions as needed.  She continued to add a number of goals and assists as well, especially in critical situations.

Alyssa’s determination, hard work ethic, kind smile, knowledge of the game, enthusiasm and team spirit along with a great sense of humor has contributed greatly to our team dynamic for the past two seasons.  It is with great pleasure that we have selected her as the M.V.P. for our 2010-2011 Season.

Lindsey Strause -- IUP

Lindsey is one of the best goaltenders in the league if not thee best.
She kept us in many games where we were being outshot 10/1.
Her poise and steady play gave our team the confidence to know that the other team had to work to score.

Nicole Cantine -- SRU

Nicole is an outstanding player. It may not show it in the stats but she always drives to play her best no matter what the situation is. She plays with her heart and always gives 110%.

She started out the season playing defense and then moved up to offense when we needed her for the second half of the season. She makes plays and sets up scoring opportunities in front of the net.
