D2 New Player of the Year

2017 DVCHC D2 New Player of the Year: Megan George!

#26 -- Megan George -- Towson

Megan new to ice hockey and decided to play this season.  Meg was willing to work hard and attend every practice and game and learn as she goes.  Her skills improved every week and every game and she certainly learned the rules and the drills and the strategies this season.  Meg would always want to know more and always wanted to know how she was doing and improving.  She is even planning on attending an Ice Hockey Camp this summer.  But what makes this an even a more unique first.  Meg is the first deaf player in the league and in our club.  It worked out great since Towson University has an education program to for deaf studies, since Meg and several other team members are a part of the program we had plenty on the team to interpret for the coaches and each other to help Meg learn the game and what was being taught.  Meg has really embraced ice hockey and has become a strong member of the Tiger family.

#10 -- Christy Quetsch -- UVA

We would like to honor Christy with the New Player of the Year Award for her pure passion and dedication to the game of hockey. Christy joined the team this season as a senior in college. Every time Christy stepped onto the ice, she was ready to play and never failed to impress. She also devoted time outside of team games and practices to going to pick-up games and stick-and-shoot sessions in order to improve her skills.

#44 -- Cristiana Rodriguez -- SRU

Cristiana started this season not knowing how to skate and she worked really hard to learn the game. She decided that she would be a good asset between the pipes. She did really well the entire season for our team.
