With the DVCHC's historic 10th season still around the corner, the women of the Chesapeake Bay region aren't waiting around.
This Saturday, women's college hockey returns with the 2nd Annual Women’s Crab Pot Tournament.
Held in Abingdon, Maryland, the four team face-off will once again be sponsored by Mid Atlantic Hockey Academy, hosted by Ice World and attended by some of the region's most respected hockey clubs.
Slippery Rock lifts the Crab Pot tourney in last year's first tournament
Last year it was the talented crew from Slippery Rock that emerged victorious, scraping through an exciting event defined by 1 goal victories.
As reigning champion and #1 seed, the team now looks to keep their shiny prize in a game vs. # 3 seed American University at 10:15am. In the early afternoon match, the #2 seed University of Maryland will battle the #4 seed U.S. Naval Academy at 12:30pm.
A third place game at 5:00pm & the championship at 7:15pm will both be broadcast live by HerbFM Radio over the internet. Click HERE to listen on game day!
"I'm super excited for the second Crab Pot," says Maryland's Emily Summers.
More than just a pre-season preview, the event will challenge 50+ athletes like Summers, draw college fans and work to "showcase the women's collegiate club game in the Mid-Atlantic region."
