Kelsey DeNardo on fire with two goals and California University of Pennsylvania puts up the shots to win the shutout

Shutting out their opponents, California University of Pennsylvania was superior against Villanova University 8 - zero at Bethel Park BladeRunners on Saturday. California University of Pennsylvania racked up three straight goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. California University of Pennsylvania gained three goals in the second period and held on to its lead. The California University of Pennsylvania defense took over in the final period. In the final period California University of Pennsylvania scored two goals padding its lead and winning the game.

California University of Pennsylvania's Kelsey DeNardo made two goals for California University of Pennsylvania. California University of Pennsylvania's DeNardo put the puck between the pipes for a power play goal with 12:38 left in the second period. Alli Paratore got the assist on this goal. Next, DeNardo scored a second goal with 0:31 left in the second period with assists from Megan Cooper and Chelsea Phipps. California University of Pennsylvania's Megan Cooper made two goals for California University of Pennsylvania and also had one point. California University of Pennsylvania's Cooper put the biscuit over the goal line with 11:59 left in the first period with an assist from Lauren Lehman. With 15:23 left to play in the third period Cooper scored a shorthanded goal. Hayley D'Hondt got the assist on this goal.

Having a perfect day, California University of Pennsylvania's Maria Sciacca stopped 45 out of 45 shots to take the win. Villanova University's Shannon Noonan had just 59 saves on 67 shots and so suffered the loss.

Adding to their victory, California University of Pennsylvania went 2-for-3 on power plays. Villanova University went 0-for-6.

California University of Pennsylvania extended their winning streak to five games and ended up with a record of 7-1. Villanova University finished the game with a record of 2 wins and 6 losses.
