Abby New connects for two goals as U.S. Naval Academy scores two goals in the first, goes on to get the victory

U.S. Naval Academy won against American University 6 - 2 at MCMULLEN on Saturday. U.S. Naval Academy tallied up two unanswered goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. U.S. Naval Academy gained three straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. In the third period American University outscored their opponents by one goal however U.S. Naval Academy kept its lead, and won the game.

U.S. Naval Academy's Abby New netted two goals for U.S. Naval Academy and also had one helper. With 8:00 left to play in the second period New lit the lamp without assistance. Then New put the biscuit into the net for a power play goal with 5:40 left in the second period with assists from Jacqui Drew and Emily Buzzard.

Having a standout day, U.S. Naval Academy's Nicole Breen made 20 saves to get the win. American University's Emily Yox had just 23 saves on 29 shots to get the loss.

American University was 0-for-2.

U.S. Naval Academy extended their winning streak to six games and ended up with a record of 8-2. American University ended the game with a record of 3 wins and 7 losses.
