Alyssa Agati golden with the hat trick, Rutgers University scores three goals in the first, goes on to get the win

Rutgers University triumphed over University of Pennsylvania 7 - 3 at Centre Ice Rink -- Harrington in DE on Sunday. Rutgers University outscored University of Pennsylvania three to one to take the lead at the end of the first period. Both teams added two goals in the second period but Rutgers University kept the lead for the win. It would prove to be too much for University of Pennsylvania. In the final period Rutgers University scored two consecutive goals sealing the deal and winning the game.

Displaying a great scoring touch, Alyssa Agati got the hat trick with three goals and also had one assist. During the first period, with 15:27 left Agati put the puck between the pipes with an assist from Emily Trethewey. Rutgers University fired up their game when Agati got a power play goal with 12:35 left in the first period. Samantha Strauss and Kelly Barton got the assists on this goal. During the third period, with 5:46 left Agati put the biscuit into the net for a power play goal. Kat Dziadosz got the assist on this goal. Leading the way to a win for Rutgers University, Amy Loughman earned the hat trick with three goals and also had one helper. Putting their initial points on the board, Loughman scored a goal without any assistance with 11:02 left in the second period. During the second period, with 3:46 left Loughman got another goal with an assist from Samantha Strauss. With 14:39 left to play in the third period Loughman scored a third goal. Kelly Barton and Alyssa Agati assisted on this goal.

Rutgers University's Laura Sammon stopped 24 out of 27 shots to gain the win, despite being outshot 27 to 26 by University of Pennsylvania. University of Pennsylvania's Kimberly Feeney had just 19 saves on 26 shots for the loss.

Rutgers University ended the game with a record of 5-2. University of Pennsylvania ended the game with a record of 7-2.
