D1 Top Scorer

#8 -- Kerry Wilson, UVA

Regular season: 39 points (32G, 7A, +30)

2012 playoffs 12 points (8G, 4A, +7)

.

#9 -- Megan Cooper, CAL U

Megan came in as a promising young star last season as a freshman and quickly adapted to college hockey. She developed quickly playing on a line often with former stand-out and program history leading scorer, Tiffany Juha, and worked her way up as a top 3 forward last year.

This year, Megan stepped up and filled in the gap with missing key players from last year's team and assumed her role remarkably well earning 14 goals and 9 assists for 23 points in 19 games while being a plus 20 and having a team high 3 PP goals and 2 game winning goals.

Megan Cooper is getting better with each season's play and we will be looking to her next year to step up and assume an even greater amount of responsibility.

#5 -- Becky Dobson, WCU

With a total of 37 goals and 8 assist this year, and leading the DVCHC for the highest point scorer for the past two years, this next player is the literally a scoring legend. Her name is Becky Dobson, and for anyone that has heard her name can tell you that this women comes to win.

Motivating the team with some systems advice every time before every game and practice, Becky has been the type of player that develops hunger to put points up on the board.  A shot that scares all, precision that lets even the tightest of spots and corners available, and a dangle that would leave you breathless.

Dobson has always been the type of player that finds the toughest game situations and turns them into her personal scoring playground for all to be amazed. Just within one or two Strides, Becky and objectively carry the puck with swiftness and passion to change the face of a not so promising game.

Apart from being a top scorer, Becky shows what it means to be a team player and present assist opportunities for others in a beautiful manner.  Every move is different from the past, and interchangeable from the future one. One can say that Becky was made for this; she was created to put the puck in the next, no matter what it takes. This is why, Becky Dobson, number 5, is our Highest Scorer.

#16 -- Iris Irwin, AU

A defensemen leading her team in points is a rare gem, but Iris is much more to AU.

Beyond taking the brunt of our scoring on her shoulders, Iris was re-elected captain and led the team on and off the ice with poise and true grit.

A stand-out talent, positive force and hard worker, Iris is the fastest on the ice and plays with determination and a cool head.  She's a leader of whom we could not be more proud.

#9 -- Danielle Malysa, UD

#41 Christy Paschutca, SRU

Stephanie has the most level head of anyone on the bench. As a fast center, she is usually the first one into the offensive zone, and is usually the target of the other team. Despite this she has never retaliated, and often calms down teammates in similar situations.

Her composure is due to her love of the game and her unwillingness to let the cheap shots hinder her in any way. She also strives to keep her own play clean, and uses her speed as an advantage when back-checking.

Off the ice she gets along with everyone on the team and is willing to help anyone who asks. Stephanie is also one of the few girls to keep things consistently positive on the bench. Even when the score is against us and we can’t catch a break, Stephanie channels her frustration into action and never turns on her teammates.

#3 -- Samantha So, VU

Sammy, Junior, is one of the best players I have ever seen. She has great offensive skill and was one of the best players we had all year. She consistently gives her very best any time she laces up the skates.

She was chosen to be the assistant captain for our team this year not only for her skill, but for her leadership and great team/ family oriented attitude. In my first season as coach she immediately made me feel apart of the close family we call Villanova Womens Hockey.

Sammy was the best all around player I was able to have all year. Her wicked wrist shot, strong skating, and hard forechecking is the reason why she was able to crack the top 10 in scoring, 4th on the goals scored list, and our overall team scoring leader.

#9 -- Emily Summers, UMD

After watching any University of Maryland Women's Hockey, it is obvious that #9 defenseman, Emily Summers, is the foundation of the Terps. Emily maintains an above average level of play through her smart and skillful defensive technique and aggressive offensive pressure.

Emily is the one Maryland player that every teammate believes can both stop and score game changing goals. By maintaining perfect positioning and playing within the team's offensive and defensive systems, Emily improves the play of her fellow team mates every game she plays in.

Emily Summers displays consistent and exceptional play, ability to be a two-way game changer, and willingness to better her fellow teammates.
